Saints QB Derek Carr injury update: Replaced by Jameis Winston after suffering shoulder injury
Derek Carr suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter of New Orleans against Green Bay. It happened on the third play where he was sacked by Rashan Gary and hit the ground hard.
Derek Carr has a 2-0 season with the Saints to start the 2023 NFL season, but he won’t be able to finish the team’s Week 3 game against the Packers.

Derek Carr was eventually able to stand up under his own power and walk off the field. However, he was seen entering the locker room shortly after, and the Fox show reported that his shoulder was x-rayed.

Winston is the Saints’s regular backup and has has a 34-46 record in 80 starts and has a 6-4 record with the Saints. He has completed 61 percent of his Saints passes for 2,554 yards, 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Taysom Hill he is one of the most unique players in the league. He plays a different positions including tight end, running back and special teams but has also made nine career starts. In those starts, he has a 7-2 record.
So the Saints are in good hands in Week 3 even with Carr out. And if he needs more time, Winston and Hill can certainly hold down the fort until the veteran is ready to return.
